Generator Power Connections

Exterior Generator Inlets & Home Backup Power

A portable generator can provide an alternative source of electricity during a utility outage, but safely connecting it to a home's electrical system requires more than installing an exterior receptacle.

LeMaster Electric installs exterior generator power inlets and supporting electrical infrastructure for compatible portable generators.

The installation provides a dedicated connection for selected household loads while preventing unsafe utility backfeeding. Portable generators are not automatically included in the installation.

Electrical scope

  • Evaluation of existing electrical distribution and backup power requirements
  • Exterior generator inlet installation
  • Dedicated wiring and overcurrent protection
  • Compatible listed panel interlock or manual transfer switch
  • Generator capacity and load evaluation
  • Grounding and bonding provisions
  • Electrical permitting and inspection
  • Operational verification and homeowner instructions
